Nevada’s “First Ever” Statewide Early Childhood Inclusion Conference (Birth–5 years) will be held July 13-14, 2015 at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. This conference will bring together special and general education practitioners, administrators, and community partners from across the state to provide information and resources to help support and implement more inclusive environments for young children and their families.
Several nationally recognized presenters have been confirmed including Ron Mohl from Lakeshore Learning Materials and Janell Rethisch and Larry Edlman from Team Lyida. Keynote presentations and breakout sessions will be offered around the topics of Language and Literacy, Kids Count: Math Across the Curriculum, Using Video, TACSEI, Inclusion/Natural Settings, Early Childhood Outcomes, Quality Early Childhood Practices, Parent/Child Relationships, Early Childhood Placement Calculations (B6), Functional Outcomes, EC Mental Health, Typical Child Development, Autism, Transition, and the Impact of Hearing/Vision on Child Development.
In addition to being able to connect with peers and national experts, county/districts who send teams of up to five members that include at least one general education teacher, one special education teacher and an administrator from the same program will also be eligible to receive stipends to attend as well as offset travel costs.
